"Implementation of franchise mechanism will attract up to 5 billion dollars investment"

 

Implementation of franchise mechanism in Ukraine will help to attract into domestic economy up to 5 billion U.S. dollars of foreign investment in five years. This opinion was expressed by Olexander Nogachevsky – the vice-president of the Franchising Development Federation of Ukraine.

 

“The problem number one on the way of investment attraction is imperfect domestic legislation - said Olexander Nogachevsky. – There are no even such terms as “franchising” and “franchise” in the Ukrainian laws. All this becomes an obstacle for foreign investors who are willing to invest into Ukrainian economy, but are afraid to do so due to absence of clear regulated rules of the game.“ 

 

According to Olexander Nogachevsky, the Franchising Development Federation’s lawyers have already worked out a draft legislation that would regulate the issues of franchising.

 

"We are in constructive dialogue with the Head Department of Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship regarding legislation and establishing a communication platform, which would effectively unite Western investors, Ukrainian entrepreneurs and government agencies. Even today the Franchising Development Federation is ready to use all their achievements, to become such platform ", - concluded by A. Nogachevsky.

 

Second International Franchising Forum will begin in Kiev on December 1. To participation at the Forum are invited Chief of the Head Department of Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Mukolay Povoroznuk, Commercial Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Cheryl Dukelou, President of the World Franchise Centre Paul Cairnie, representatives of foreign and domestic business.
