Sayenko Kharenko

Anzhela specializes in international trade and regularly advises clients on a wide range of trade law issues, including on distribution and franchising agreements.
She actively participates in the EBA Working Group on Franchising as well as has unique experience in advising foreign manufacturers, franchisors and domestic franchisees across all industries on franchising matters in Ukraine.

Mrs. Makhinova has recently advised on the following franchising related transactions, representing:

• a leading German manufacturer of mattresses on the transfer of manufacture technology to the Ukrainian company under a franchise agreement;
• one of the leading clothing companies in the Northern Europe on franchising scheme for Ukraine, and a separate licensing agreement within the framework of the said scheme;
• a UK’s leading retailer of clothing, food and homeware on legal regulations governing franchising in Ukraine;
• the leading Ukrainian franchisee and distributor of brand apparel on a wide range of international trade issues, including related to franchising;
• Geox, the world’s second-largest ‘casual’ lifestyle sector operator, on enforceability of a draft franchising agreement to be entered into with potential Ukrainian franchisees; 
• Gucci, a world’s leading company of brand luxury goods, on legal regulations governing franchising in Ukraine.
